The amount of reading in my work load is finally taking its toll on my body. Last night I woke up at 2 AM panicked that I had missed my alarm. Then after waking up every hour on the hour, I got up for my 6:45AM shower. I literally had to drag myself out of bed...without my cappuccino I would not have made it through the day.
After an 8:30 class, I had a three hour break. Why on EARTH would they give us a three hour break?! It's not like we were able to choose our schedules or classes. Therefore, I was stuck on campus and forced into a law school "study hall". I suppose it's productive, but dang is it dull. The positive aspect is that I have less homework tonight at home to worry about. You know what that means-more toddlers and tiaras!
It is absolutely necessary that I plan every aspect of my day on paper. And because of this extreme planning, this is what my planner looks like! I'm trying to work ahead so I can have a little break this weekend- I hope it pays off!

First Week as a One L
I've just started my first year of law school at Drake Law School in Des Moines, Iowa. As my first blog, this will probably serve to rant about my enduring and ever-tiresome year beginning my quest to become a lawyer. I'm sure a few other ponderances will enter into the equation, but since the majority of my life will consist of law-ish things, I'm assuming that's all I'll really have to talk about.
The first thing- dressing for law school is very challenging for me. When you watch movies or tv shows about law students, you always see very preppy looking people. Upon our first day of orientation, the leaders told us that law school is actually pretty lax. Wearing sweatshirts, jeans, etc. would totally be appropriate. When I enter the law school on the first day of class, however, half the law school is wearing suits, business formal attire, and heels! Gahh. So much for CASUAL!
This is what I picked as a good "in between" outfit- not too dressy and not too casual, but we'll see how the problem of getting dressed in the morning adjusts as the year goes on!
